A live music celebration in the streets, public areas, restaurants and cafes by amateur and professional musicians during the longest day of the year and first day of summer – the summer solstice. For 2014, we are celebrating it a bit early... and combining it the Grove's populat FAM (Fashion | Art | Music) event held on the first Saturday of the month. People wander from place to place and enjoy a night of free music of all styles from classical to funk, R&B, rock, blues, jazz and more.
The Fete de la Musique, thought up by an American musician in 1976 to build peace by the means of music, first took place in Paris / France in 1982, and is now celebrated world-wide in more than 450 cities in over 100 countries.
